The Busy Life of a Big Sister

Well, it's been too long again, but life as a big sister is a lot busier than you might think.

You have to try to make Lois laugh all day with fingers that aren't as coordinated as you would like them to be. You never know if you're going to poke her eye, her ear, or pick her nose when really you're just trying to touch her chin.

You have to watch your favorite cartoon, "Daniel, Daniel," when Lois is sleeping. Or, call as many people as you can on Skype.

You have to go outside for walks. And when Mom wants to take a picture, you have to shrug your shoulders and say "I don't know!" even though you know that all Mom really wants you to do is smile. Believe me, it's more funny when I do it in real life.

And, you have to bake imaginary cookies and cook popcorn with Annie in your matching aprons.

When Lois wakes up again, you have to get back to making her smile. She's getting really good at it, but sometimes I'd rather just snort like a pig.

And when it snows, which has only happened once (today) since we moved here, you have to go outside and build a snowman with Dad.

And then sit on top of it, of course.

So, sorry it's been so long since I've written. But like I said, life can be pretty darn busy as a big sister.

Halloween and Birthdays

I can't believe it has already been over two weeks since Lolo (that's her new official nickname I gave her) was born. But you know what they say, time flies when you're having fun. And we've been having a lot of fun.

First we had a matching pajama party.

Then we had Lolo's first photo shoot. Not really, we just took pictures of her on Mom and Dad's bed. But I think she looks cute enough to call it a photo shoot.

A few days later, it was my birthday! Can you believe I'm already two years old? I know, crazy right?
We started off my birthday with some deshishess (delicious) pancakes. Then we swung Papa in a blanket.

Then it was Grammy's turn. They sure didn't swing as well as I do.

After swinging, it was time to carve pumpkins with Papa.

Can you guess which one I did?

After jack-o-lanterns, it was time to go twick-or-tweeing. Dad and I got all dressed up as Hansel and Gretel and headed out to get some treats.

When we got home, I made my own pizza and it was extra deshishess.

After dinner, I put on my jammies and my shades to open my gifts. Thanks everyone for the great presents, but I was a little disappointed that the ice cream was plastic!

After my birthday, it was time to spend some quality time with Lolo again.

?????
I'm not sure what I was doing here. I look pretty good though.

A week later it was Dad's birthday. He is getting sooooo old. He is like fourteen times older than me and even though I don't know my times tables yet, I know that's pretty old.

Finally, we put on our jammies again and took some more pictures. (Yes, it is necessary to wear a headband to bed.)

I tried to teach Lolo how to lay on her belly...

...but she was having none of that. So we just laid around and made pouty faces instead.

Wow! That was a lot. Sorry to put you all through such a long, jumbled post. I just wanted to tell you everything we've been doing since Lolo came. It's so much fun being a big sister. Seriously, look how big I am.

I'M A BIG SISTER!!!!!!!!!!

Guess what everyone, I'm a big sister now!

I'm sorry I haven't been writing for a while, but the bigger I get the more I want to play outside. And when I leave the writing up to Mom and Dad it never gets done. (Don't tell them I said that.) But now that I'm a big sister, I'll have plenty to write about again. My little sister, Lois, was born a couple of days ago. Look, here she is with Mom and Dad.

She weighed 8lb 3oz and was 20 3/4 inches long. Just perfect! Not too chunky (like the gross kind of peanut butter), but plenty of skin on those little bones.

Mommy said she is almost the exact same size I was, maybe even a little bit bigger.

I got to go see her the next morning at the hospital and I couldn't take my eyes off of her. She is so cute!

She also really likes it when I give her hugs.

She even brought me a present to say she is happy to have me as her big sister. I don't know when she had the time to go shopping. She is so sweet!

We were all really happy that Grammy came to visit. She got here while I was asleep the same night the baby was born. She was such a nice surprise to wake up to.

After I saw Grammy holding baby Lois, I had to try it out. Then I gave her a big kiss while I had the chance. Daddy's big hairy arms didn't quite trust me yet, but he says I'll be able to hold her by myself soon.

After Grammy and I left to go home, Lois put on her first pair of jammies and of course a headband. I'm not going to let my first little sister go anywhere without a headband, at least if I have anything to say about it.

Remember when I told you she wasn't really that chunky? Well, I changed my mind. Check out those cheeks!

Finally, when I woke up from my nap and had stripped down to my nothings (my choice not theirs), Mommy, Daddy, and Lois were home and I got to hold her all by myself. Well, I guess with a little help from Grammy. So, here she is, people, Lois Elizabeth Taylor, the cutest little sister in the whole wide world. I can't wait for you all to meet her!

You'll have to wait an hour or two, though, I just sang her her first lullaby and put her to sleep.

Feeding the Bunnies

This week we had a lot of extra carrots, so we drove to the beach to feed the bunnies.

2012 in Pictures

Happy New Year everyone! I know I'm a week late, but it was a long first year of my life and I had a lot, a lot of pictures to go through to put this together. Sorry it's so long, but I hope you enjoy it. (If the images seem blurry, change the quality to hd at the bottom of the video screen.)

Back Home

After a long day of flying and driving, we made it home safely from our Christmas vacation in Utah. (I'll go through pictures soon and post about all the fun we had.) We had been gone for so long that I wasn't sure if I would remember our house. But, right when we walked in the door, I remembered all of the fun I have here. Here are some older pictures of all of the things I remember doing around the house.

Halloween

Thanks to the pouring rain on Halloween, we had to wait a couple of days to get some good pictures of my costume. Sorry for the delay. If you can't tell, I was a garden gnome. Mom and Dad said they might rent me out to gardeners next summer because I look so cute. I don't know what "rent" means, but it sounds fun. I can't wait until next Halloween so I can dress up again.
