My First Snow

The other day--actually it was quite a while ago now--I woke up and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was snowing. The trees and rooftops and streets were all covered. I tried to hurry to out to play, but by the time Mom and Dad had gotten me ready, there was only this much left. Not much to play in, but just enough to take a cute picture with Mom. Next time it snows Daddy promised he'll teach me how to do snow angels.

Mail!

During Christmas I learned all about Mail! It is definitely one of the more fun things I've learned about so far. Apparently, people from all around the world pack things up and put funny looking stickers in the corner called stamps and then send them to people they love. Thanks everyone for sending me such fun things in the Mail!

Look at my new trick

Well as far as  babies are concerned, this is a trick. I can hold my own bottle. Mommy had a kidney stone so I had to have a bottle for a couple days. I decided to use the opportunity to show Mom and Dad how strong I am. They were pretty impressed.

Playing

One thing I love to do is play on my play mat. Well...I'm not  really sure what to do with the toys hanging from it yet, but I am getting pretty good and laying on it and kicking my legs a lot. It just keeps me so entertained why bother with the silly extra toys?

My first Thanksgiving.

I was really excited when I saw that peach pie, until Mom and Dad told me I wasn't old enough to eat it yet. What a waste of a Thanksgiving. At least I got to spend it with my two favorite people. Mom even held me while she ate!
Mom and Dad told each other what they were thankful for and I was number one on the list! I'm thankful for them too!

Visiting cousin Bear

I finally got to meet my new cousin Bear (and Smith). Last time I went, Bear and I were both sleeping so it wasn't very fun, but this time we were both wide awake. We had a lot of fun at their house. So much fun that I even peed on their carpet!

I can't wait to go play with them again soon!

Look what I can do...

It took me a little while to get it down, but now that I've figured it out, I just can't stop smiling.

My favorite thing to do every morning.

Sure, dad may not be looking his best in the mornings, but I still love when he holds me for a couple hours while he works and eats breakfast. I usually just stare at him. Or sleep.
I love my Daddy.

My first Sunday at church.

My first Sunday at church was about a week and a half ago, but sometimes I just don't have enough time to blog with all the sleep I've got to get done. Anyway, here is my cute church dress. I didn't have one that fit me yet so I convinced Mom and Dad to take me to H&M to buy one. Don't you love it?!

Thanks Aunt Lindsay

Today I wanted to show off my fancy headbands. Thanks to my aunt Lindsay, I have lots of fun ones. These are two of my favorites.

Thanks Lindsay!!!

Happy Birthday Gramma!

I know I'm really far away and Mom and Dad say I am too young to fly back to Utah for your birthday by myself. So, this is as close as I can possibly get to you (to the camera).
I have a giant hug, kiss, and maybe even 56 birthday spankings waiting for you in April though!
If you can't tell, I'm really trying to smile, but my cheeks feel extra heavy today.

Finally Some Sunshine

Today was the first day of real sunshine since I was born. So, I talked Mom into doing a photo op on the back porch with me ...

and then grabbing Dad to come on a walk with us to the grocery store.
It sure is nice to get out of our apartment from time to time.

Bye Grammy...I Miss You Already

I wanted to post a final picture of me and my Grammy that we took just before she flew home. I'm so happy that she was here to hold me and sing to me for my first few days here on earth. I can't wait to see her again in six months. Besides, then I'll finally get to meet my other grandparents too. I love you Grammy!

My First Stroll Around the Block...

Today Mom and Grammy dressed me up nice and warm to take me out on my first walk.
I was so excited to try out my new stroller and I couldn't wait to get out of my room. It's beginning to smell a lot like spit-up and diapers. It seems like Mom and Dad are cleaning all the time, but they just don't seem to be able to keep up. Sorry Mom and Dad, I can't help it.
I love my new stroller. I wish I could just sleep in here instead of my bed because it is so comfy. Since we don't have a car here, our only mode of transportation is stroller. So, Mom saved up months and months of babysitting money to buy me the perfect stroller.
Thanks Mom!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Today was Dad's birthday and we had so much fun. He said it was his favorite birthday ever because I'm here and because he got to wear his pajamas all day. I, on the other hand, couldn't wait to get out of my pajamas this morning so that I could put on my birthday outfit for Dad.
Thanks Jessie for such a cute outfit. I think it is my favorite outfit so far. I'm sure some of you fashion fanatics out there are thinking, "But what's with the cow socks?" Let me give you a better look so that you understand why I couldn't resist wearing them today.
You see what I mean? Real life cows on my socks. Don't be jealous!

My favorite part of the day was giving Dad his presents. Mommy helped me make him a Birthday card, since my hands aren't big enough to hold a grown-up pen yet. Then we wrapped everything in blankies because we didn't want to look for the wrapping paper.
Dad was especially excited about his accordion, but he told me that I was by far his all-time favorite birthday present. After presents, I watched Mom, Dad and Grammy eat some delicious looking cake, which looked like a lot more fun for them than it was for me. Mom promised that she'll make a big, delicious cake that I can eat when it is my birthday. I can already taste it...

It was also my Grandpa's birthday today. He and my Dad have the same birthday. So, I sent him this picture http://www.babygalerie24.de/babygalerie/index.php?open=browse&khaus=1006&year=2011&show=322418
for his birthday. It was taken of me at the hospital when I was four days old. Happy Birthday Grandpa!

My First Volcanic Eruption...

Okay, I guess I would be lying if I said today was my first eruption. My eruptions started days ago, but they've happened frequently enough now that they have become necessary to report. Thank goodness for grandparents and hand-me-downs because I'm going through outfits like nobody's business.
One thing is for sure, I'm giving Daddy plenty of practice and after these ones, he'll think everything else is a piece of cake.

My first story time!

Today, Grammy and Papa read me my very first story. It was amazing. I never knew stories could be so fun. Grammy held me and Papa read and showed me all of the pictures. Grammy also gave me a new friend to match my story so that I never forget my very first story time with Grammy and Papa.

Thanks Grammy and Papa! I hope you read me many more stories.

I'm Home!

Today, we got to leave the hospital and finally go home. I was really excited. I was kind of getting tired of German cafeteria food and soap operas. Of course I didn't eat any of the food or watch any of the soaps, but you can imagine how they could get pretty boring, pretty fast.

The best part of coming home, though, is that I got to change out of the generic, quite boyish hospital clothes, into my pretty pink outfit that Granny gave me. It went perfect with the headband and hat that Grammy gave me. I don't know what the big occasion is, but it seems like everyone is giving me cute presents. If I could talk, I would tell everyone thank you, but that I don't need so many gifts. But, since I can't, I'll just enjoy them.

When we got home and walked in the door, I was so excited to see my new room. Right now we live in a cute, little apartment here in Heidelberg, so I get to share a room with Mom and Dad. I wouldn't have it any other way. I especially love my crib and matching diaper holder that Gramma made for me. I haven't met Gramma yet, but I hope she teaches me to sew like that some day.
I also really like being wrapped up in all of the cute blankies my great aunt Cindy made for me and lounging around on my Boppy.
Thanks everyone for making me such nice things so that I could come home to a warm, comfortable home.

Happy Halloween!

Hi everyone, I made it just in time to wish you all a Happy Halloween! I didn't have much to choose from when it came to costumes, so I dressed up as a cone head. How do you like it? Luckily it's nothing permanent. I have to admit, I was a little disappointed when I arrived and everyone was dressed up as doctors. I thought people here on earth would wear more creative costumes than that.
Mom and Dad's costumes were the best. Dad was dressed up as a clueless new father, hiding his nervousness with overly excited smiles; and Mom was dressed up as a half-dead, exhausted lady. I never knew exhausted ladies could be so pretty. I can't wait to see what she looks like when she's awake and alive. I was so happy when the doctors handed me over to Mom and Dad and let them hold me while they cleaned up the mess I made.
As soon as everything was spic-and-span, Dad rushed out to tell Papa and Grammy they could come in and see me. I couldn't believe they flew halfway around the world just to see me. I was so excited to finally meet them. I'm pretty sure that I have the best grandparents in the world. Daddy told me I even have two more that I still get to meet that are also amazing.

I'm so happy to be here in a real life family! It's better than I ever imagined!

p.s. I know my diary is pretty plain right now, but I haven't had much time to decorate. Don't forget, I'm still only a few hours old. I promise to decorate my diary soon.
